Merry Christmas from LCC International University

Christmas Greeting

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

(Isaiah 9:6)

May the peace of Christ be with you this Christmas
and throughout the New Year!

Christmas at LCC: A Growing Fair and One More Interpretation of the Nativity Story

muge

muge

Christmas at LCC International University draws in members of the university community as well as the broader city community with two of its traditions – the Christmas Fair and a re-telling of the Nativity Story.

The Christmas Fair, which offers desserts and gifts for purchase, has been growing ever since it started several years ago. What is most notable about this event is that a significant part of all proceeds from the fair is donated to the local homeless shelter to buy and prepare food for its annual Christmas Eve dinner for those in need. This year a part of the donations received from fair participants reached 1320.08 litas!

As for the Nativity Story, this year’s performance was directed and performed by our staff, faculty, and students. To get a sense of what Christmas at LCC was all about, you’re invited to view this news coverage video.

Two of LCC’s Bachelor Level Study Programs Ranked Best in Lithuania

Students in classroom

LCC International University has once again proven that the quality of our study programs is not just a marketing myth – independent magazine Reitingai (Rankings – English) ranked LCC’s International Business Administration program as well as English Language and Literature program to be the best among similar programs offered by other Lithuanian universities. Theology program came in second among the best in the country.

For the first time in Lithuania, institutions were ranked in 70 dominating study areas, with the overall number of study programs reaching 1600. University study areas were evaluated after interviewing more than 2,000 employers, reviewing specific research areas of the faculty publications in the past five years, scientific development, the highest and the lowest score for admission criteria, the number of freshmen with highest grades from high school, the GPA of first-year students. The evaluation of Lithuanian higher education institution accrediting bodies was also taken into account.

According to Jonė Kučinskaitė, the author of methodology and one of the editors at Reitingai, some universities are very small, and specialize in just a few areas. Nevertheless they managed to perform exceptionally well. She praised small universities like LCC, “In these institutions the overwhelming majority of the study programs are of the highest quality.”

At the moment, LCC offers five Bachelor level programs with the sixth one – a B.A. in International Relations and Development – still in development.
